User Tests in Soest - October 2013

posted 13 Nov 2013, 06:18 by Unknown user

In October 2013, the implementation of a first functional prototype of the ARGUS system was ready to be tested and evaluated.

For this the ARGUS team met up in Soest, Germany with a selected group of users.

One of the most important and remarkable facts was the participation of a young female student of the LWL Berufskolleg in the user tests who told the interviewers that she normally never goes outside without assistance, but with the help of the ARGUS system, she expected a higher level of safety and independence for her future life.

The initial results of this testing have been submitted to the European Commission and based on the results of the evaluation, the work will continue refining and completing the development of the ARGUS system.

In the final phase of the project additional efforts will be made to disseminate the project results and prepare for their future exploitation.

New FP7 project kick-off: Meter-ON

posted 24 Jul 2012, 01:39 by Unknown user   [ updated 14 Aug 2012, 01:52 by Clemens Beyer ]

On 19 July 2012 CEIT ALANOVA participated in the kick-off for its newest FP7 project Meter-ON.

Meter-ON aims at elaborating a comprehensive set of lessons learned and recommendations in the field of smart metering and Advanced Metering Infrastructures in order to provide decision makers and stakeholders a useful toolbox of both technical and non-technical recommendations to foster the deployment of smart meters in Europe.

At the headquarters of Lead Partner EDSO for Smart Grids in Brussels, 23 representatives of the consortium partners and third parties involved (DSOs – distribution system operators from Europe) gathered together to discuss and start their activities.

“A successful deployment of smart meters is an important basis for reaching the EU energy objectives and reaping the full benefits from the energy market. We are very pleased to coordinate this project, giving distribution system operators, public authorities and regulators a better understanding of the current situation and the way forward”, said Per-Olof Granström, Secretary General of EDSO for Smart Grids.
